where are you located?

Del Mar Photographics studio is located in Solana Beach, CA. Serving SD county and the world at large. (320 South Cedros Ave. Suite 350)

where will we shoot?

Except for newborns, all appointments take place on location. We have several go-to spots in San Diego to suggest for you, or we can shoot at a location of your choice, including your home or business. Anything and anywhere is a possibility.

what time of day do you shoot?

On-location sessions are scheduled about 1 hour before sunset. This can be as early as 3 pm for a start time in the winter and as late as 7:00 pm for a summer. If we’re shooting in your home, business, or Studio, times are more flexible and discussed during the booking process.

how long is the session?

On location, child and family sessions usually last between 1 and 2 hours, depending on the season, the number of children in the family, the location, total wardrobe changes, and various other factors. We don’t put a fixed time frame on your session; rather, we shoot until the job is done and your child or family is captured in the way you have imagined. Studio newborn sessions will take at least 1.5 hours and often up to 3 hours to soothe, feed, and comfort the baby.

do you help us plan for our session?

Before your session, we will spend some time on the phone and/or via screen share discussing what you want to get out of our time together.  We will plan the clothing together and select a location you feel is best for the personality and mood of you and/or your family.  To get an idea of clothing that we suggest for children and families, please visit our pinboard on Pinterest – titled What to Wear– for ideas and visualize what different colors do to an image. 

what is included with my session fee?

Your session fee includes pre-session consultations via phone and/or screen share to plan and prepare for your appointment concerning wardrobe, location, theme, etc.  The session fee also includes travel time, post-processing and editing of all session images, and in-person design and ordering sessions.

what does your average client typically spend?

Most clients spend anywhere between $900-$3500+; you only buy what you love. 

are prints or digital negatives included in my session fee?

Wallart, albums, digital files, and all custom products are not included in your session fee.  Portrait Collections and a la carte studio prints begin at $380.

how long does it take to get my order?

Orders typically take 4-6 weeks to deliver as all images are hand retouched. Reorders take 2 weeks to deliver. RUSH orders are available.

what forms of payment do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards, as well as personal checks and US currency. Payment plans are available.
